HOW BRAVE NEW WORLD BUILDS A SOLD-OUT BECO MIXER
Let’s be clear about something: a networking event and an experience are not the same thing.
One fills a room. The other fills a purpose.
At Brave New World Enterprises, we don’t do events just to do them. Every room we build: whether through BECO (Black Eco Chamber) or any of our properties: is designed with intention, curated with care, and executed with the understanding that how people feel in a space determines what they do after they leave it.
The “Show Up & Show Out” Mixer series is a prime example of this philosophy in action. Our mixer events consistently sell out. They generate real business connections. And they’ve become a cornerstone of BECO’s reputation as a community that delivers more than promises.
So how do we do it?
Here’s the blueprint.
It Starts With Intention (Not a Date on the Calendar)
Before we book a venue, before we design a flyer, before we reach out to a single partner: we ask one question:
What transformation do we want attendees to walk away with?
For our sold out “Show Up & Show Out,” Mixer the answer was clear: we wanted Black entrepreneurs and business professionals to feel seen, connected, and activated. Not just “networked.” Not just fed appetizers and handed a name tag.
We wanted people to leave the room with at least one meaningful conversation, one tangible resource, and one reason to come back.
That intention shaped every decision that followed.
Venue Selection Is Strategy (Not Just Logistics)

We chose the Columbia Tower Club’s 75th-floor location for a reason. Seattle’s skyline stretching out beneath you does something to the psyche. It elevates the conversation before a single word is spoken.
But it’s not about being fancy for fancy’s sake. The venue signals to attendees: this room is for people who are serious about what they’re building. It naturally curates the energy.
Here’s the truth most event planners miss: your venue is your first filter. It tells people who the event is for before they ever read the description.
When you’re intentional about the physical environment, you attract the right people: and repel the ones who aren’t ready for the room.

Partnerships That Add Value (Not Just Logos)
When we bring partners into a BECO experience, we ask: what can they offer that our attendees will actually use?
Here’s a hard truth about event sponsorships: slapping logos on a step-and-repeat doesn’t create value for anyone.
This question meant we cultivated key sponsors for our themed networking mixers at the Columbia Tower Club with Goorin Bros. Hats and Mens Wearhouse amongst others.
These partnerships made the experience richer. They gave attendees something to talk about. And they made our partners look good because they were adding to the room, not interrupting it.
If you’re building experiences, choose partners who understand your audience: and who are willing to show up with real value.
Why This Matters Beyond the Mixer
At BNWE, we believe that Black entrepreneurs, creatives, and business professionals deserve spaces that honor their ambition. Not watered-down networking hours. Not rooms where you leave with a stack of business cards and nothing else.
Real experiences. Real connection. Real outcomes.
That’s what BECO is building. And that’s what Brave New World Enterprises brings to every project we touch: whether it’s a sold-out mixer, a live concert, a brand launch, or a private gathering.
The principles are the same: intention, curation, execution, follow-through.
